Safe2Say Something

"Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late."

The Northwestern Lehigh School District is committed to the safety and well-being of our students and staff. On January 14, 2019, the state launched an anonymous reporting system entitled Safe2Say Something. This program was mandated under the new ACT 44 guidelines in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office.

The Safe2Say Something program is being provided through the Sandy Hook Promise Organization and it is an anonymous reporting system designed to help students and staff (through the recognition of warning signs and signals) who may be a threat to themselves and others. It is the hope that the program will empower individuals, specifically our students, to look out for one another and be able to act quickly to help a fellow student in need.

Students will be trained on how to submit an anonymous tip utilizing the website (https://www.safe2saypa.org), phone tipline (1-844-SAF2SAY), or mobile app. District staff members are trained to respond and manage tips. School officials (a trained team of five District staff members) will work in coordination with our Police force, state and local law enforcement officials to clarify and respond to all tips.It is the hope that the program will empower individuals, specifically our students, to look out for one another and be able to act quickly to help a fellow student in need.
