I believe homework is a valuable aid in reinforcing what has been learned in class. I expect students to do their best and complete homework neatly in pencil.
I generally assign homework 4-5 evenings of the week. Math homework should take no more than 30 minutes per evening. If your child is spending more than 30 minutes on an assignment, please contact me, so we can evaluate if he/she is in need of assistance. Homework will be reviewed daily.
Homework is graded for completeness, rather than accuracy. Two points will be given when homework is fully completed. If three or more problems have been skipped, or not fully completed, full credit will not be earned.
When homework is not completed or in class by the due date (usually the next day), your child will receive a zero for that assignment. If a pattern forms, I will contact home.
If your child is having difficultly understanding an assignment after your assistance (three or more problems), please sign the paper. This will prevent your child from receiving partial credit or a zero on the assignment.
Parents are key to making homework a positive experience. Make homework a top priority by providing necessary supplies, a quiet homework environment, setting a daily homework time, and giving praise and support.
Homework assignments for math will be shared here.
The calendar will ALWAYS be filled with that night's homework assignment (due the next day, unless otherwise noted)
