About Us

VOICE Mission Statement

The mission of the CCSD Secondary Arts Annual Juried Competition is to encourage and engage young minds in the appreciation and understanding of art in public places. This process stimulates active learning about art and the creative journey through the presentation of art work, gallery representation, gallery etiquette, and competition with other high school students from throughout the Las Vegas valley.

Our History

VOICE was founded in 2003 with a budget of $500.00 allowing for a very small competition, which included a few categories for high school art students. Since it's inception, VOICE has awarded over $25,000.00 in cash awards to young Nevada painters, illustrators, printmakers, ceramicists, photographers, sculptors and new media artists.

Our Vision

The vision of CCSD Secondary Arts Annual Juried Competition is to act as a connecting bridge for all high school visual arts students desiring to exhibit their art and participate with other high school students in the annual arts competition.

Advocacy in the Arts

As artists and art educators we are each in the position to create an awareness of the importance of the visual arts to our society. VOICE encourages all high school artists to support one another in the creative process and explorative journey.
