Hello! I'm Monte Carman, the lead educator and driving force behind the dynamic Multimedia Communications program at Southwest Career and Technical Academy, commonly known as Southwest Tech. With a passion for animation and a commitment to cutting-edge multimedia education, I dedicate myself to nurturing the next generation of creative talents.
My journey in multimedia has been a blend of artistic exploration and technical mastery. As a teacher of animation, I revel in unlocking the potential in each student, guiding them through the intricate world of digital storytelling and visual effects. My classroom is a canvas where creativity meets technology, and every project is an adventure.
As the program Lead for Multimedia, I oversee a curriculum that's a diverse as it is in-depth. My focus is on creating an environment where students can discover their unique strengths, whether in graphic design, video production, podcasting, or interactive media. Here, innovation isn't just encouraged; it's a way of life.
In my commitment to excellence, I constantly strive to equip our students with the most current technologies and techniques in the field. It's crucial that our learners not only keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape, but also become trailblazers in their own right. By providing access to the latest software, hardware and industry standard practices, I ensure that our students are well-prepared to excell in the dynamic world of multimedia and beyond.
My role extends beyond the traditional classroom, as an advisor for Technology Students Association (TSA), I mentor students harnesssing technolgy for problem solving and leadership. Our TSA chapter at Southwest CTA, which can be followed at @swctatsa on Instagram, is a testament to our students' passion and ingenuity
In addition, I proudly coach our Competitive Gaming Club, which is our Coyote eSports team. Gaming is more than a pastime for us; it's about teamwork, strategy, and quick thinking. We are the 2023 High School National Champions in Splatoon 3, and our team last year captured $6000 in scholarship money as well as bringing home a several great trophies in our first year of competition.
