The Clark County School District recognizes that family engagement is essential for academic achievement. When parents and families support their children’s education, the attitudes, behaviors, and achievement of students are positively enhanced. Parents and families provide the primary educational environment for children; consequently, families are vital and necessary partners with educational communities to prepare students for lifelong learning. Clark County schools, in collaboration with parents, teachers, students, and administrators, are encouraged to develop and promote strategies that enhance family engagement and reflect the needs of students, parents, and families.

Students, parents and faculty throughout Nevada now have access to SafeVoice, an anonymous reporting system used to report threats to the safety or well-being of students. SafeVoice was established by the Nevada Department of Education under SB 212 in 2017 to protect student wellness, prevent violence and save lives.
In partnership with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, the SafeVoice program provides students a safe place to submit tips concerning their own safety or that of others. A fully trained professional team of experts responds in an appropriate manner 24/7/365. Tips always stay anonymous.

The Harbor is a Juvenile Assessment Center that houses several community providers all under one roof. We provide assessments and services to youth and families to address their immediate and ongoing needs.
The Harbor provides assessments to youth at no charge to families. The assessment process gives juveniles and families the opportunity to provide a comprehensive description of their unique family structure.
The purpose of the assessment is to identify the presenting issue’s origin and provide service referrals to address the concern. Although The Harbor works closely with local law enforcement, taking advantage of our free referral service will not generate a criminal record.
