Canvas is the learning management system where all of your assignments will be posted. You will use Canvas every day, as it is also used in your other classes. Be sure to log on to Canvas before we begin class every day. If you are unable to log on to Canvas, try logging on to Clever first. You will see the Canvas button.
The Clever website hosts many different applications used in this class. Many of these apps are also used in CCSD. A few of the applications include Reading Plus, NearPod, Book Creator, and many more. This is like a one-stop place for your programs and applications.
StudySync is the class textbook where you will find our rigorous ELA curriculum. Almost all of our reading passages will come from StudySync. Your will practice also writing about what you've read. See your teacher for your log in information.

You can earn HERO points from the teachers and staff at KO! Log on to the HERO website to view your points. Your username and password is your student number.
This link will take you directly to our school's library page. You can find a book, log on to Infinite Campus, find online resources and databases for research, and contact the librarian, Mrs. Lowry.
Looking for another way to write "she said"? Stop being repetitive and find a synonym for the word "said"! This website will help you find the definitions for new words, synonyms and antonyms for improve your writing, and even an audio icon to help you pronounce difficult words!
Do you need help trying to determine if the book you are reading is at your current Lexile or reading level? This link will help you figure that out!
MAPS Testing
You will take the MAPS test in both your ELA and Math class. A link will be given to you either on your Chromebook, or right before the test.
These are a few of the outside digital resources you will use to assess what you've learned in class. They may be used for formative and summative assessments, quick knowledge checks, class discussion and/or group work. You will be given a log in code before each session. This list may change as we discover other fun and exciting learning applications!
