APPLE CORE is back for the 2022-2023 school year!
All Lummis students are encouraged to participate in the Apple Core reading program. This CCSD program gives students the opportunity to track their home reading on an Apple Core bookmark. When students complete their 20 hours of reading outside of school, they obtain a teacher and parent signature and turn the bookmark into the library. Their name will be written on an apple sticker and placed on their class apple tree in the library. They will also receive brag tag, pencil, and new Apple Core bookmark.

Toward the end of the school year we will have random drawings of completed bookmarks at Lummis Flag Ceremonies. Students can win books and other great prizes. All bookmarks will be then be mailed to the district for a chance to win a Kindle Fire and more great prizes. Best of all, the top three schools in the district with the highest levels of Apple Core participation will be awarded a huge donation to be used for literacy materials. We hope all Lummis students participate in the program. Reading is so important!
