Publications is one of my favorite classes. In this class, we get to take pictures and videos of things to put them in the 2018 yearbook. It was a lot of fun and I now love photography because of it. Below are some of my favorite pictures and videos that I took in this class.
This was one of the first photos that I had taken in Publications. This is a cropped version of the original but this photo is one of my favorites. It is a picture of one of the Yellow Lantana plants found on the WCTA campus. On the home page of this website, a slightly edited version of this photo is the banner behind the title. This photo will always hold a special place in my heart because it is one of the first awesome photos I have ever taken. Not only that but Mrs. Williams, the Publications teacher, had said she thought the photo was awesome. This photo was taken on September 6th, 2017.
This is another picture that I took but it didn't end up in the yearbook either. This is a picture of my friend Jesse who is also in Publications. This photo shows people a behind the scenes look at publications. We are all just people sitting out in the cold taking pictures of what looks nice until we get the perfect one. I love this photo but I honestly don't know why. I think it is just so relatable to me and how I take picture (always checking my camera for a good picture and such).
Not only did I take photos. There were many videos that were worked on to be put in the yearbook. Videos in the yearbook? Yeah! We used this thing called Aurasma. It uses a trigger picture to play a video on your phone. If you have the West Career and Technical Academy 2017-2018 yearbook, you can download the app called Aurasma, make an account, and follow GenerationW. Then when you put your phone with the Aurasma app over any of the trigger images (they are marked with little colored squares), it will play a 30-40 second video. During the 2017-2018 school year, I had a total of 3 aurasmas.
