The student in the gray jumps over the student in the red in an attempt to take an action shot using fast shutter speed. Even with quick shutter speeds, if the photographer doesn't take the photo quick enough then the action has to be repeated. After a couple of jumps and different positioning, I was able to take this photo at the right moment. Each photographer had a go at jumping but this student had the best poses and highest jumps. I chose this photo because not only does the student portray an amazing pose, it also shows the progression of another photographer's photo in a different view.

I chose this photo because not only does the student portray an amazing pose, it also shows the progression of another photographer's photo in a different view.

This was one of the few photos that were taken on the first day of this assignment. Instead of taking a basic picture of someone jumping off of the ledge, we decided to take an action shot of someone jumping backward off of the ledge. Since this was taken on the first day, I had to make adjustments to how fast the shutter speed was and timed myself on when to actually take the picture. This photo was taken a couple of times because I had to not only get used to how shutter speed worked but I also had to time the jump perfectly. The cameras can't manage to take a photo every millisecond so each jump resulted in one photo. I was lucky enough to take the picture quick enough and this was probably the fourth attempt at jumping off of the ledge. I chose this photo because, at this exact moment, the student seems to be levitating. The shadow below the student perfectly outlines the student and replicates the exact pose. Without the white concrete floor, the shadow wouldn't be as prominent and the student would've just seemed to have been photoshopped in.

This photo was taken unintentionally but it still worked. The student moved so fast that I didn't have time to focus on whether or not the photo was centered or if the student was even in the photo. I just took the picture and assumed it was crooked and out of focus. This photo took a couple attempts and I was fortunate enough to witness the student kick the ball a couple times. I chose this photo because even though was it unplanned, the photo still came out nice and straight.
