As it is stated in the name cybersecurity, security is of utmost importance. The responsibilities of a cybersecurity professional are huge. Loss of sensitive data can compromise the trust of a customer.
Privacy
Privacy concerns are intertwined with cybersecurity issues. Ransomware and identity theft are two forms of hacking that deeply violate a user's privacy. Organizations that possess personal informations about users have the ethical responsibility for protecting such information from hackers.
Ethics
It is commonly known that security measures are used in order to protect your device. However, security that we implement can sometimes end up working against you. Edward Snowden, a former intelligence consultant, leaked highly classified files which revealed that NSA had been collecting a little too much information on the wrong people.
This brings the question, how do we determine the ethics of an organization and which to trust to protect our private information? Currently, there is no set standard for ethics; however, ethics is a prominent issue in Cybersecurity that involves safety, privacy, and security.

Confidentiality is a key ethical issue in technology. Keeping a users personal, private, and proprietary information is crucial in the cybersecurity field. Revealing such information will be detrimental and could potentially cost people working in this field their jobs.
