So what does a School Social Worker do?
The role of the School Social Worker is to provide support to all students, families, and staff within the school community. In order to do this the School Social Worker collaborates with other school personnel (i.e. administration, school counselors, teachers, behavior interventionists, special education instructional facilitator, and/or communities in schools site coordinators) to provide a comprehensive service to students and their families. Some of the things we will be providing here at Clark High School as your School Social Workers are the following:
Individual School-Based Mental Health Services on a case-by-case basis
One-on-one student check-ins
Small groups (social emotional learning, coping skills, support, etc.)
Connecting students and their families to community resources
In the event students are transferred to distance learning, services CAN BE provided through telecommunications such as phone, email, Google Meets, or Google Hangout. In order to participate in individual or group services a special School Telehealth Consent Form will need to be completed and returned. If for any reason you are unable to complete this form and return it there is an option for verbal consent and a copy will be emailed to the guardian.
