"Green Algae" refers to the largest group of algae, as it is made up of the most common combination of chlorophyll and accessory pigments. However, for our purposes, we used Nannochloropsis occulata. This is a species of algae that is known for its fatty acids, along with high oil content within its lipids.
Since green algae is a wide variety, we thought that we would show you some of the "close relatives" of our species of algae.
