Advanced Art is designed for students who want to be exposed to a comprehensive use of media and technique while developing personal and visual concentrations in their work. This course is built around a greater flexibility and fluent use of the elements of art and principles of design, color, theory, and vocabulary. 124 This course requires students to develop and employ advanced art processes and procedures through a wide range of art mediums and experiences in their portfolio. Students will analyze, interpret, theorize, and make informed judgments about artwork and the nature of art; create two and three dimensional works of art, reflect upon the outcomes and revise their work; relate art to other disciplines, and discover opportunities for integration. Students will build and develop art creation skills through hands-on demonstrations, experimentation, college presentations, art exhibitions, classroom critiques, art criticism, and individual portfolio development.
