The French Horn (known simply as the "horn" in professional music circles) is a brass instrument made of tubing wrapped into a coil with a flared bell. Like the trumpet, three valves are used in different combinations; however, instead of piston valves, rotary valves are used. The most difficult of the brass instruments offered, this instrument is highly sort after as it has few players. The horn has an extremely rich, soft tone somewhere between brass and woodwinds, enabling it to blend well with the sound of many other instruments.
