Performance
a) Open a new Garageband file
b) Check the tempo is 133 beats per minute (BPM).
c) Change the drum sound - look for a 909 drum kit, this drum machine was originally used in famous house tracks.
d) Add a new MIDI track and draw in your drum beat - place a kick or bass drum sound on beats one, two, three and four.
e) Loop your beat so the pattern repeats
f) Add a snare or clap sound on beats two and four.
g) Add hi-hat sounds on the off-beats in between beats.

How is your track going to start?
How are you going to keep you audience engaged?
How is your track going to finish?
Dance music normally builds up at the start
Do you need to create a 'break' before having another beat drop?
If you're stuck for ideas, a 'fade to finish' is a good choice
Finally, you can experiment with using volume changes, panning and adding/adjusting other effects to develop the texture and shape of your performance.
