Students from UH, Warton Jr. College, and KU visited West Texas/ New Mexico to learn about various geological processes at Guadalupe NP, White Sands NP, and Carlsbad Caverns NP! Few students were also able to participate in active undergraduate research projects!
GeoSociety headed back to New Mexico this winter where they visited White Sands, Deming. and Gila National Forest. Several undergrads also participated in active research projects related to geologic events that took place within the area.
Members of GeoSociety joined students in a course project for Geologic Field Methods where they spent Spring Break at Big Bend National Park. The project consisted of creating a stratigraphic column and a geologic map for the Dagger Flats region. On the final day, students were treated with a trip down to the Rio Grande River for some fun under the sun.
