Please find below a few resources that might be useful in supporting your child with their reading at home.

Reading with your child at home regularly, whether your child is in the early years of education or Y6, is one of the most important (if not the most important) things you can do to help aid your child's learning. The benefits are far reaching, including a wider vocabulary, increased creativity and improved reasoning skills- something that will hugely support a child's mathematical development. Discussing what has been read is also a massive element of developing reading understanding and comprehension. You may therefore find some of the question prompts below useful.

We understand that finding the time to read together in a busy world is not always easy, but we can not stress enough the importance and significance of catching even just 10 / 15 minutes a day (such as before bedtime). It can make a huge difference to a child's learning and for this reason, in many ways, we would argue supporting your child with reading is more important than supporting them with other types of homework. Plus, it's also a chance to bond and share some quiet time together and provides some much-needed time away from screens.
