Video Streaming (Swank)
Swank K-12 Streaming
Swank is a video streaming service that allows educators to legally provide access to films in direct support of face-to-face teaching activities in the classroom. Any other public showing of a movie (including in a classroom or other educational setting) is a violation of 17 U.S.C. § 110.
Swank login page (this is for teachers only - the student login does not work here)
Movies available for viewing:
Additional titles purchased by South for the current school year (titles must be repurchased annually)
How to request movies (must be done through Swank). Helpful tips:
Put the date you request the movie as the “Requested Start” - using a date in the future means that you will not have the ability to preview the movie prior to that date.
Fill out the “Academic use” field thoroughly with a description of the lesson being taught and how the movie supports the lesson objective. Swank has denied requests if this is incomplete.
It takes 24-48 hours for the request to be available.
Student login credentials (for teacher credentials please contact a librarian)
In order for a student to watch a movie, the teacher must assign the movie, i.e. share a link to the movie.
