Hi my name is Gabby Putman and I'm currently a senior at CNS High school. Here's a little scoop to get to know about me and my crazy life filled with nonstop excitement, that has developed and motivated me into the person that I am today. Everyday I'm surrounded by my supportive family consisting of my mom, Erin, and dad, Jason, who've taught me to dream big and know that those dreams can come true if you work hard to make them into a reality. My sister, Kate, who is my utmost inspiration in life and I'm able to watch her shine from afar as she attends NC State University. My brother, Jack, who's always teaching me something new and keeps me on my toes. And my dog, Darby, who has a contagious energy and love for the lake life. I wouldn't be the person I am without their constant support, advice, guidance, and love.
As for me, I'm someone who loves to be curious, learn new things, be adventurous, and envelop myself into the endless opportunities around me. I make sure to put my all into everything that I do and I have a great competitive spark to win, but also to help the ones alongside me learn as well. This trait probably results from my love of the sports that I play in Lacrosse, Cross Country, and Track & Field, and one that has lead me to have the amazing opportunity to play lacrosse and attend the University of Vanderbilt in the fall. My history of sports and biology around the body in sports sparked my interest to major in biological sciences on a sports medicine/physicians assistant track. My motivation to work in this realm also comes from my amazing teammates. They are my favorite people in the world and I'm inspired to be surrounded by the most hardworking and strong minded women every day so I want to do a job that helps them and athletes like them. I work alongside them and with them to bond together as a team and create a legacy we know will last at CNS; not just as a team but as family.
However, on top of sports I've always had this continuous interest for the creative side of life. My passions include photography and editing, playing the violin, music, and playing the ukulele. Part of this creative side probably swaying my opinion to choose my college in the dead heart of music city; Nashville, Tennessee. My parents always telling me to never let these passions die and to keep them with me as I continue into my next adventure of college. Leaving my legacy behind at CNS and using my resources around me to keep learning new things, making new friends, and gathering intelligence in my toolbox to use when I leave CNS. My favorite quote is from US Olympic Hockey Coach Herb Brooks, and it is the one that has also become my senior quote, "Great moments are born from great opportunity". I've kept this motto within me for as long as I can remember because it reflects how you must be grateful for everything you've been given in life and use those things to make you a better person for yourself and for others. Please keep exploring on my website to learn more about my life and how this scholarships' impact has been spread among my community and how it would be a opportunity for me to create great moments to carry out it's legacy in the future.
