Media Arts

With being a part of a big community with people of all different backgrounds it's nice to see how personable everybody is even with having a large population. By going to CNS I have had so many great opportunities and materials accessible to me that students at other schools do not. I get to have the advantage of taking advanced placement courses, college credit classes offered at Syracuse University, having super competitive sports teams to play on, high quality and personable teachers, amazing facilities and classrooms, and more. One of these classrooms I've got to work in is in fact the Keith W. Fengler Mac Media Lab for my photography class called Media Arts with Mrs. Tracy Liberman. I've been so lucky to have been a part of this class freshman and senior year and been able to develop my skills as a photographer greatly over the years. Throughout my time I've been awarded a New York State Scholastic Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable mention twice for my pieces of artwork. These awards would not be possible without the help of my teacher and the classroom I work in where I have access to multiple DSLR advanced Canon Cameras, multiple shooting backdrops and props, and best of all over 25 MacBooks and computers where I'm able to edit my images on multiple digital platforms to create developed digital and photographical pieces. This class has made such an impact on my life and I'm sure anyone in my class can say the same. It's fun, its engaging, and I've been able to learn so much about the technological world that I would have never known if I hadn't taken this class. The impact these types of classes have on students have made CNS's art and tech programs so popular to the point where there are now Syracuse college classes being offered in media to students, the first ever coming to CNS in 2026. This will give students like me the opportunity to learn and grow to the best of their ability and make an impact for generations to come.
