Use Models and Strategies to Subtract Tens and Ones

If a word has all 3 of these rules

1. 1 syllable

2. 1 short vowel

3. 1 final consonant

THEN double the final consonant before adding -ed or -ing

* Magic e rule for adding -ed & -ing

- Poof away the e before adding -ed or -ing

- Every other word- just add -ed or -ing
