General Library Information

Objectives of the Library

The Peaslee School Library meets the needs of the entire Peaslee community--students, staff and families. The library serves a dual purpose--both as a classroom and as a library providing resources for curricular and personal reading needs. The library curriculum itself includes information literacy, literature appreciation and library skills. Collaborative projects with classroom teachers are encouraged.

The library is open from 8:50 to 3:20. It is closed during the librarian's lunch and duty periods.

Library Usage

Peaslee students visit the library once a week for forty minutes. This time is devoted to both instruction and borrowing.

Please encourage your child(ren) to return books on time. The book your child has borrowed may be just the one another student or teacher has been waiting for. Putting books in backpacks the night before library day is often very helpful.

In our library we do not charge fines for late books. However, we do charge a replacement fee for lost or damaged books. Books may be renewed once if they are not on reserve.

I look forward to sharing my love of literature and information literacy with your child and you.
