Hello RLA Parents and Guardians,

The Remote Learning Academy for our middle school students is in full swing! We are excited to be working with your children this year and are committed to supporting them in their academics as well as in their social emotional learning. Our team of dedicated educators, listed below, are passionate about their content areas and truly enjoy working with middle school students. They understand the development stage of adolescence and the specific issues and concerns of this age group.

Because our school district has three separate middle schools (Florence Sawyer in Bolton, Hale Middle School in Stow, and Luther Burbank Middle School in Lancaster), our Remote Learning Academy teachers for 6th - 8th graders are located together at the district's high school in Bolton. This is different than full remote elementary school students who are taught by teachers at the school in their hometown.

Each of our RLA core subject educators teach all three grades. By working together in one building, the team can more easily collaborate and share resources and ideas. This structure also provides our students an opportunity to work with students from different towns, which will help them feel more comfortable when they enter high school. To make sure our RLA 6th - 8th grade students are connected to their hometown peers, they take their Advisory and related arts courses with them. And of course, all middle school students are encouraged to get involved in extracurricular activities offered through any of the three middle schools.
