NRHS Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate Overview
As part of our district’s commitment to preparing students for success in life after Nashoba, we ask high school students to evaluate and reflect on the Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate competencies.
This represents a purposeful shift from our K–8 model, where students are assessed on these competencies directly on their report cards. In high school, instead of being evaluated solely by teachers, students take a more targeted and active role by identifying when and how they demonstrate these skills in real-world situations.
Through reflection, they build agency and ownership of their learning, gain confidence in their strengths, and begin to understand how these competencies translate beyond the classroom and into college, careers, and everyday life.
Wolf Tracks
To support this work, students take part in Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate periods on a monthly basis. During this dedicated time, they build their digital portfolios, called Wolf Tracks, by collecting examples from classes, clubs, athletics, community involvement, or jobs that demonstrate their growth in the competencies.
This important initiative was launched last school year. We have shared information about this work through The Common. We are working on some updates to the platform that students use, as well as building out access to this virtual portfolio. Stay tuned, we should have more information out in January 2026.
