Why Are These Competencies & Work Habits Important?
The Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate competencies were developed by a committee of educators, administrators, and parents as part of the Nashoba Regional School District Strategic Plan and include: Communication, Creativity, Culturally Competent Global Citizenship, Learners Mindset, and Perseverance. These competencies reflect the skills, behaviors, and habits that support students’ growth both inside and outside the classroom, and they provide an essential foundation for lifelong learning and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment. They are intentionally introduced, developed, and reinforced throughout students’ experiences in the Nashoba Regional School District.
The updated report card showcases these competencies through organized buckets where work habits are evaluated in the Core Academic section and the Related Arts section. They reflect progress in these areas using a consistent scale for grades 1- 8, with kindergarten including an additional "O" for "Often."
