Suggested Schedule for Grade 8
On the next page, you will find a suggested schedule for structuring your student’s Remote Learning at home.
The recommendation is that each student spends 2-3 hours a day on school work. It is also recommended that each student have 30 minutes of physical activity each day and that any student enrolled in Band be practicing their instrument daily.
Helpful Tips & Reminders:
All specific learning activities will be posted on your child’s Google Classroom for that subject area, including Special Areas
It may be helpful for some students to start with their hardest subject first. Thus, you may want to rearrange the actual subject matter, but keep the time frame.
You know your child well, so you may need to build breaks into their day. Remember, this is a suggestion of which to build. You are encouraged to think creatively and make adjustments to best suit your student!
Engaging with Remote Learning will not be the same as learning in a classroom. Students can do work outside, or in a fort, or on the couch! The goal is for students to be engaged and learning, not to feel stressed or overwhelmed.
Please notice that the specific time of day for each ‘class’ is not given. As you know, some work better in the morning, and some would prefer to start later in the day, as long as they are engaged each day and interacting with the content.
