2024 State of North Ridgeville

North Ridgeville City Schools and North Ridgeville City held their third “State of North Ridgeville Address” on March 21st at the North Ridgeville Academic Center. Attended by over 150 long-time residents, teachers, students and city officials, this address covered the major developments in the North Ridgeville community. This joint presentation between the city and schools recaps the significant milestones from 2023 and paints a vision of the future of the community.

This presentation focused on “Inspiring Excellence and Building Community,” it touched on key concepts of “success, confidence, community, pride and the future.” Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio and Mayor Kevin Corcoran both jointly presented.

Superintendent Ramsey-Caserio commented, “I am thrilled to see so many turn out from our community. There are so many great things happening with our students, it’s hard to sum it all up in one presentation.”

Underscoring the growth in the community, Mayor Corcoran expressed optimism about the direction of the city. “We made a tremendous number of advancements throughout 2023. Key accomplishments include new hires in the fire and police departments, business growth including Dayton Freight coming to the city, new branding and communication projects and the development of our citywide Master Plan.”

“We are continuing our progress in 2024 with a focus on pursuing economic development opportunities, investing in our infrastructure and updating our development regulations to ensure wise land development.”

Additionally, Superintendent Ramsey-Caserio spoke about the new high school being built in North Ridgeville, which is currently in design. “We are engaging with teachers, residents and students on designs for the new high school.” Engaging with district staff and the community is a goal for the project. “We are looking to the future for this new school and all the ways it will enhance the district.”

Attendees were asked to weigh in on the biggest challenges the current high school has and also provide feedback on one “wish list component” for the new school.

The project, which is aimed at improving the safety and security, space and overall excellence of students will provide double the square footage of the current school, including a modern, collegiate environment, better technology and enhanced athletic facilities for students.

As the design process continues, architects will continue to meet with district staff to ensure all the needs of the school district are met for the new building. The community will have opportunities also to provide input on the process, including a “Meet the Architect and Exterior Design Exercise” on April 10th.

Additionally, residents are encouraged to send any questions or feedback on the project to the district via the dedicated construction website.
