The Karat Scale is a "combine" testing system where student-athletes are ranked based on standards as well as other athletes of the same gender and grade. Based on the results from the "combine" testing, athletes are ranked on a five point scale.
5 of 5 would earn a 24 Karat ranking
4 of 5 would earn an 18 Karat ranking
3 of 5 would earn a 14 Karat ranking
