Smart chips are expandable snippets in Google Docs that display information about people, files, events, dates and more. You may have seen them when you start a new Doc or you enter @ in a Doc.
When you enter @ in a Doc, you will be able to add a variety of smart chips.
Education Plus gives you access to Timer and Stopwatch chips. These smart chips could be useful to students. For example, if you have students working through a HyperDoc, you could add a timer or stopwatch smart chip so that they can keep track of how much time they are spending on one section.
With Education Plus you can create custom building blocks. A custom building block allows you to reuse content. This allows you to take something you use on a regular basis and save it to be able to use it in a future document. For example, if you have a rubric format or template that you use frequently, you could save that rubric template as a custom building block. When you need to create a new rubric, you can start a Doc and use the rubric custom building block to add the template.
