If teachers are going to use AI as an assistant to help them create materials for use in the classroom, we should afford that same opportunity to students when and where appropriate. (As of January 2024, ChatGPT Terms of Service indicate users must be 13 years or older with parental permission to use the service.)
What is cheating in the world of AI? What is the limit in your classroom? Will that look different depending on the activity or assignment? Teachers should be having conversations with colleagues around acceptable student AI use.
