To be inducted into the World Language National Honors Societies, they must meet the below criteria:
Grade Level: Students must be in grade 11 or 12.
Enrollment: Students must be enrolled in at least their third year of language study at the high school. Courses in middle school do not count.
GPA - World Language: Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6 (A) in the world language. This includes the midterm exam of the induction year.
GPA - Overall: Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.33 (B+) in school overall. This includes midterm exam scores of the induction year.

Induction occurs every April in the evening. Students will receive an invitation if they qualify; there is no application required.
NEW JERSEY SEAL OF BILITERACY

To qualify for the New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy, students must meet state eligibilty requirements, as outlined below:
New Providence High School offers New Jersey’s Seal of Biliteracy program to any/all interested students. This award is jointly given by a school district and the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. Students must meet the NJDOE’s graduation assessment requirements in English Language Arts to demonstrate proficiency in English, and demonstrate a linguistic proficiency level of at least Intermediate Mid according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Proficiency Guidelines. The district offers an exam to assess proficiency in languages other than English each year in the winter. Those who meet the requirements will earn a physical seal on their transcript upon graduation indicating the achievement.
