Course Description
This course is intended to help familiarize students with various key health professions, interprofessional practice, as well as the common types of organizations and settings in which they function. Key issues related to degree requirements, licensure, credentialing and scope of practice, as well as the demand and salary information will be covered for various health professions. Likewise, the foundational concepts regarding the US healthcare system, regulation, categories of services, payment and reimbursement as well as common settings and healthcare organizations through which services are provided, will also be detailed.
