Hello Everyone!
My name is Sarah Di Pietro, and I am thrilled to continue to be Jefferson's school counselor this school year. I completed both my Undergraduate studies in Counseling and Human Services (2017) and Graduate studies for my Master's in School Counseling receiving my PK-12 Pennsylvania teaching certification for counseling (2019) at the University of Scranton. I was lucky enough to spend time a Jefferson for my Practicum and Internship experience during my graduate studies with Jefferson's last counselor, Mrs. Johnson, who has been a fantastic mentor and friend to me for years.
I have a vast knowledge of mental health for children in grades K-12. Before accepting my position at Jefferson, I worked for Friendship House as Behavioral Health Technician and then a Behavioral Health Mobile Therapist. I also was a district substitute for a local school, and LOVED getting to be in the classroom with kids everyday. School Counseling is special to me, as it includes the mental health and teaching component. Mix those together and you have the best job I can ask for!
There is something very special about Jefferson Elementary and the atmosphere around the school. The faculty, staff, administration, parents, and students are all committed to helping each other thrive and to become bigger and better versions of themselves. North Pocono's mission is " to educate and challenge all students to their maximum potential and to prepare them for the demands of a global society", and I intend to incorporate that into every lesson I teach. I hope to be able to positively influence even a small part of your child's time at North Pocono, and to in fact prepare them for their prosperous and successful future endeavors.
In my free time I enjoy being at the beach, going for walks, drinking a lot of good coffee, and spending time with my family and dog, Marcus, and listening to music!
Fun facts:
Favorite color- Yellow
Birthday- New Year's Eve
Favorite season- Summer

I look forward to working with your children, the faculty and staff at Jefferson, and you as parents. Please feel free to continue to reach out with any concerns or even just to say hi!
As always, thank you
Sarah Di Pietro
