***If you have signed up for strings and do not receive an email from Mrs. Goughan by September 28th regarding the start of Strings, please email Mrs. Goughan at goughalm@npenn.org
Each schedule will be posted outside my door/on the website and emailed to parents/guardians/teachers. The students will also be provided with a hard copy of each schedule.
Students will be placed into groups on the schedule. They will be grouped by instrument. The days that we have Strings class will stay the same, but the time of class may rotate each day.
Use the "Schedules" page to check the schedule each month and for help with how to read the schedule.
September (more information to follow). Students will receive a folder and a Beginner Strings Packet within the first several classes. Students are required to have their pencil, folder, workbook, Essential Elements book, and instrument for every class.
The first few months of Strings class is the trial period. Zeswitz will explain the trial period and what it involves in their rental agreement form.
Students will receive a progress report with a recommendation after their trial period.
In the beginning, students will be expected to practice at least 5 to 10 minutes each day. As the strings skills increase, the expected practice times increase.
Playing an instrument is just like a sport; you must always have the right equipment, you have to practice outside of the scheduled rehearsals and practices to continue to improve, and you always have to do your best.
Be involved in your child's strings classes and their practicing. Ask them to show you what they've learned, ask them to play for you, or even ask them to teach you how to play. The more you are involved in their strings experience, the more they are going to grow, learn, and love strings!
