The NMT ChemE Car team is working on a stopping mechanism for the hydrogen fuel cell car. The current plan is to use a stopping mechanism that involves an acid-base reaction to produce gas that will push an electrolytic solution through a manometer. A few wires will be connected to this manometer, and once the solution is no longer in contact, an Arduino will tell the car to stop. The electrolysis tank used to generate the hydrogen is also being redesigned to better automate hydrogen production and collection processes and overcome previous problems with the old design.
