Fees Explained

Fees are payable based on the payment plan selected ahead of each academic year.

Annual plan: 

Payable by 31 December of the prior year i.e 31st December 2025 for 2026 Annual Payment

All annual payments shall be made via EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) to the account details provided below. Please ALWAYS use your Nova Pioneer statement account number as the reference.

Termly plan: 

Payable by the termly deadlines below:

Term 1: 5th of January

Term 2: 5th of May

Term 3: 3rd of September

Monthly plan: 

Monthly fees are payable in advance by the 5th day of each month from January to November (11 months).

January fees should be paid via EFT using the bank details provided below. 

Monthly payments from February to November must be made through a debit order. All families on a monthly payment plan are required to authorize debit order mandates and approve them with their banks.

Primary

All Grade 6 students are assessed using the official Cambridge Assessment to determine their readiness for Secondary School. Nova Pioneer is charged a fee for this by Cambridge International, which in turn is payable by families of Grade 6 students. This fee will be included on your January statement.

Cambridge assessment costs are indicative and are subject to change, with exchange rate fluctuations.

● The above Cambridge assessment and examination costs are billed to Nova Pioneer in Great British Pounds but are billed to parents in Rands, as above. As such these costs above are subject to change, due to exchange rate fluctuations.

● For any subjects that require the student to re-write, an additional per-subject assessment/examination will be levied to the fee account.

● Actual fees owing will be charged to the fee statement, once students’ official registration is complete.

Secondary

Students write Cambridge International examinations and assessments at various stages through High School - initially a checkpoint during Lower Secondary and then for their IGCSEs and finally for AS and A-level subjects. Costs for these are charged to the parents account.

The school offers parents a family discount. This discount will only be allocated to the fees from the second child onwards.

● The following sibling discount is offered on tuition fees:

• Child #1 (oldest): 0% discount on fees

• Child #2 (second oldest): 10% discount on fees

• Child #3 (third oldest): 20% discount on fees

• Child #4 (fourth oldest): 25% discount on fees

• Child #5 (fifth oldest): 30% discount on fees

The school offers all current Novaneer families a fee discount of R3,500 (on their own child’s fees) for each new student referral. 

This discount will only apply if the student referred is successfully admitted to the school. This referral discount is only applicable to the first year of fees. Where a successful referral is made by a family who has two children at the school, the discount will only be applied to the child in the lowest grade.

Those responsible for account payments are requested to use the account number as the payment reference - this is the 5 digit account number found on the top right corner of your fees  statement. Payments made without the account code cause administrative delays in updating your account and, unfortunately, incorrectly referenced payments will be charged an admin fee of R100.

Notice Deposit - Legacy process

A once-off Notice Deposit was required prior to 1 July 2023 upon acceptance in order to secure the student’s spot at the school. The amounts were as follows:

R4,000 For Grades 000 & 00

R7,000 For Grades R - 7

R8,000 For Grades 8 - 13

Should you not take up your position offered, an amount equal to the notice deposit will be forfeited. This amount is paid back to the family once the student leaves the school, provided a full term’s notice is given and there are no outstanding fees by the time of leaving. Families that paid the notice deposit are held to the terms of the notice deposit.

Enrolment Fee

From 1 July 2023 we started charging a non-refundable Enrolment fee to secure the student’s spot at the school. The amounts were as follows:

R2,200 For Grades 000 & 00

R3,900 For Grades R - 7

R4,500 For Grades 8 - 13

Should you not take up your position offered, an amount equal to the enrolment fee will be forfeited. A full term’s notice must be given 

Top Up

When the student enters a new phase at the school (Grade 00 into Grade R; Grade 7 into Grade 8), a Top-Up Enrolment Fee is payable to bring the student’s enrolment fee in line with that new phase. This Top-Up Enrolment Fee is non-refundable.

If the student does not arrive for school on the planned first day of enrolment once the Non-Refundable Enrolment Fee is paid and the enrolment contract signed, an amount equal to the Non-Refundable Enrolment Fee will be forfeited and the parent will remain liable for the first term’s fees.

Notice Period for Termination

One full term's notice, in writing to our HoS and receptionist is required before withdrawing a student from the school.
