My name is Mrs. Duca-Johnson (Mrs. D-J) and this is my 7th year at Coakley Middle School. I am originally from Southern Maine where I grew up near the train tracks in a small town with no traffic lights. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and a Masters Degree in Library Science from Simmons University. While substituting between my two degrees I fell in love with Middle Schoolers and knew that was where I belong.
I love reading and writing fan fiction and knitting. I am re-learning how to crochet and have taken on the challenge of making enough knit and crocheted squares to actually finish a blanket. Lastly, I am known to have a quirky some what dry sense of humor that I blame on my parents. It's hereditary.
I currently live here in Norwood with my wife, two stepsons and our crazy puppy Norbert who thinks he is much bigger than his 15 pound size and loves when we run into students during our walks. I love living so close to where I work and often walk to and from the school.
