Book Buddies

Students meet across grade levels with a designated "book buddy" once a month to share the joy of reading. Our older students enjoy choosing just-right books for their young buddies, and our younger students look forward to the visits from their special big kid friends! 

Spelling Bee  

Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to participate in their classroom spelling bee in the month of December. Classroom winners are invited to participate in the school spelling bee in mid-January. The school winner moves on to represent the school at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord. 

Read Across America Week    

In March, the whole school celebrates Read Across America week with fun literacy activities and sometimes even a visit from the famous Cat in the Hat!

Author Visit    

Each year, an author visits the school and meets with groups of students to share their books and experience of writing them.
