A Hard Reset will restart your Chromebook hardware. It may delete some local files in your Downloads folder.
A Powerwash is essentially wiping your computer. It is also known as a Factory Reset because you are resetting it to the way it was shipped from the factory. This will erase all user data & local files. Make sure to back up your files on Google Drive first.
You can Hard Reset when your device is not powering on properly, or when you are having other issues with your hardware (the physical components of your device).
You should only perform a Powerwash on your computer if it is not responding and no other troubleshooting methods will work.
Press Refresh + Power at the same time
Wait for Chrome to load.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r
Choose Powerwash
Then click Continue
Your Chromebook will reboot again
Once booted click Get Started

Make sure your Chromebook is charged, keep it plugged in for a little while, and try again.
Unplug your Chromebook from its charger, unplug any USB devices, hold power button for 15 Seconds. This will discharge excess power.
Plug your Chromebook back into its charger and try powering on.
If this does not work, press the Refresh and Power button at the same time. Wait to see if your screen powers back on.
*A good indicator it will turn back on, is the white light near the charging port. If this light is flashing orange, it will need more time to charge before turning on.
Make sure you are not opening a Google Doc in Microsoft Word or vice versa, sometimes this can cause loss of information as well as alter graphs or charts. This goes for Slides/PowerPoint and Sheets/Excel.
If you are opening the document from Google Drive it will automatically open using a Google App (Doc, Sheets, Slides, etc). To open with Microsoft, download the document to your computer before opening.

*When choosing Browser tab or Desktop you will also be given the option to enable/disable your mic and webcam as well.
Then click Record.
3. When you are finished recording press the stop icon. A new tab will automatically open where you can watch, edit, and share your recording.
