Mr. Orban has been a public school music teacher for 11 years and is going into his fourth in the North Rockland Central School District. He directs the Fieldstone Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Bands, Jazz Band, and is Director of the North Rockland High School Marching Band. Prior to his appointment at Fieldstone, Mr. Orban taught at Louise R. Johnson Middle School in Bradenton, Florida, Anne M. Dorner Middle School in Ossining, NY, and PS/MS 4 Crotona Park West in the Bronx, NY. In addition to his full time appointments, Mr. Orban previously served as the Assistant Director of the Southeast High School Marching Noles in Bradenton, FL, and Visual Caption Head for the Rutgers University Marching Scarlet Knights. He is a freelance French Horn player, an active marching band music arranger, and drill designer for schools across the country.
A native of Florida, Mr. Orban received his Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University in 2010, and his Master's Degree in 2018 with emphasis in Instrumental Music. As part of his undergraduate education, Mr. Orban performed with the World Renowned Marching Chiefs, the FSU Concert and Symphonic Bands, the Wind Orchestra, and the University Philharmonia and University Symphony Orchestras. During college, Daniel was also a member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from Rosemont, Illinois from 2006-2008, winning the DCI World Championship in 2006. Mr. Orban has studied horn with Jeanie Berry, Lydia Van Dreel, David Cripps, James Wilson, Kevin Reid, and Michelle Stebleton. He has studied conducting with Mark Spreen, Professor Richard Clary, Dr. Patrick Dunnigan, and Dr. Alexander Jimenez.
Mr. Orban is a husband to his wife Lauren, father to his three sons Luke, Noah, and Jack, and master to his two dogs Elsa and Vinny.
