It is important to exercise your right to vote! Registered voters residing within the North Polk district boundaries can cast a ballot in the special election bond referendum.
"Shall the Board of Directors of the North Polk Community School District in the Counties of Boone, Polk, and Story, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $15,000,000 to provide funds to construct, build, furnish, and equip a new elementary building and to improve the site; and to construct, build, furnish, and equip an addition to the existing high school building, including related remodeling, and to improve the site?"
Registered voters can vote early in-person at the Polk County Election Office, located at 120 2nd Avenue (Suite A) in Des Moines. Early voting is open February 3, 2020 through March 2, 2020.
Registered resident voters can submit an absentee ballot request form to vote via mail. These request forms can be downloaded (click to download) or are available through the Polk County Election Office. Absentee ballot request forms must be received by the Polk County Election Office by 5PM on February 21, 2020.
Registered resident voters can vote at their polling location on March 3, 2020 between the hours of 7AM-8PM.

March 3, 2020 - A Special Election will be held to authorize the North Polk Community School District to contract indebtedness and issue bonds to construct, build, furnish and equip a new elementary building and improve the site; and to construct, build, furnish, and equip an addition to the existing high school building, including related remodeling, and to improve the site. Polls will be open from 7AM to 8PM. A YES vote of 60.1% is required for the measure to pass.
