Accessibility Statement

North Park School District is committed to providing information on its websites and applications that are accessible to all individuals, including individuals with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities. 

In order to promote accessibility, good faith efforts are being made by the district to ensure that all district webpages and applications comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level AA criteria. These guidelines help make web content accessible not only to users with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability. 

Please note that some pages on the North Park School District website contain links to third-party sites. North Park School District is not responsible for the content, facts, opinions or accessibility of third-party sites.

Feedback and Accommodations Requests

The district encourages individuals to submit feedback about inaccessible technology and request reasonable accommodations that will help ensure access to the services it provides. Anyone who is unable to access any district webpage or application should contact:

• All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Accommodations are provided at no cost. 

• Accommodation requests that would impose an undue financial, technical or administrative burden on the district may not be fulfilled as requested. 

• Examples of accommodations include: 

  • Sign language interpretation for an event, meeting, or appointment 

  • Alternative document formats (such as braille or large print)

Progress Report

As of September 1, 2024, the District has taken the following efforts to ensure accessibility: Implement a new ADA compliant website.

The District Technology Manager and leadership team has been trained on the changes that are necessary and will train the staff to ensure their class pages are compliant including but not limited to classroom sites and

Why we are at this stage 

North Park School District recognizes the need for compliance.  We are a small district with limited resources.  February 2024-June 2024- exploration began to determine our current compliance status and recognized that we need an ADA compliant website in order to be fully compliant.  After many demonstrations of different website companies, we have chosen a new website platform that matches our needs.  This website will be up and running by September 2024.

Organizational measures

The following steps have been taken during the exploratory phase of ensuring compliance with the Website Accessibility Requirements 

• Taking an inventory of technology and prioritizing, validating through testing and addressing issues that are found in current technology.

• Creating and implementing a plan for providing reasonable accommodation and modification until the technology can be made accessible. 

• Providing contact information and support for receiving accessibility feedback and accommodations requests.

• Incorporating accessibility requirements into a new website including design, development, user experience, and quality assurance.
