Freshman Year- Fall 2020
The Fall 2020 marching band season was cancelled, and our students had to learn to do school virtually and communicate with friends at a distance. The band persevered through the ever changing rules of the pandemic. Zoom meetings took the place of in person band class. When students eventually went back to school, the band had to play outside or with masks to help prevent the spread of the virus. Our seniors began their high school careers during COVID, and missed out on a Fall marching band season.
The band returned to the field in the Fall of 2021 with the show, Espana. The Class of 2024 would quickly learn their place in marching band, where a smaller band, meant EVERYONE was in the spotlight. The band participated in the following in the 2021 season:
The Class of 2024 became leaders in their Junior year and performed Ouroborus. Appearances and Accolades included:
-ECU Band Day
-White Oak Band Classic- 1st place 1A overall, 1st place Music, 1st place General Effect, 1st place Visual Performance, 3rd place Percussion, 3rd place Colorguard.
-Panther Band Classic (Pasquotank)- 1st place Class 1A Band overall, 1st place Visual Ensemble, 1st place Visual Performance, 1st place General Effect.
-Greene Central Band Day- 1st place Class 1A Band overall, 1st place Visual Performance, 1st place Music, 1st place General Effect, 2nd place percussion.
-Crystal Coast Band Classic (Havelock)- 1st place Class 1A Band overall, 1st place Visual Ensemble, 1st place Percussion, 1st place Music Performance, 1st place Visual Performance, 1st place General Effect. 6th place in Finals competition.
The Class of 2024 will conclude it's final season with it's show: "Up in Flames"
