Snap words are high frequency words that can read by decoding quickly. Heart words are high frequency words that we can decode part of the word but have to memorize "by heart" the other part. Both will be taught this year and sent home weekly to practice. By the end of second grade, students should be able to read and spell snap words from kindergarten, first grade, and second grade.
