Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is one of the largest and most respected career and technical student organizations in the country. It connects students to business education, leadership development, and competitive events at the local, state, and national level.
At North Beach, our FBLA chapter is embedded directly into the CTE Arts program as a Power Hour — a class where the business strategy behind the program gets developed, tested, and improved by students.
Every store needs a business team. Every publication needs a revenue strategy. Every creative program needs people thinking about the bigger picture.
FBLA students at North Beach serve as the Think Tank that supports the School-Based Enterprise classes. That means:
Analyzing product lines and making recommendations on what to develop or discontinue
Developing marketing strategies for Commercial Art products and the Yearbook ad sales effort
Working through pricing, cost analysis, and margin decisions
Identifying operational improvements and proposing solutions
Presenting business ideas to real audiences — teachers, administrators, and community partners
Business fundamentals: supply and demand, pricing, cost analysis, profit and loss
Entrepreneurship and startup thinking
Marketing strategy: audience identification, channel selection, and message development
Leadership and team dynamics
Professional communication: written, verbal, and presentation skills
FBLA competitive event preparation — regional, state, and national competition
FBLA offers competitive events in dozens of business, marketing, and leadership categories. Students who compete gain presentation experience, professional feedback, and recognition that stands out on college applications and resumes.
