                                                                     Program and Community

     North Scott High School is located 10 miles north of the Quad Cities in the community of Eldridge, Iowa.  Yearly enrollment in the high school is around 1000 students with an average, of 160 students participating in Choral Music.  Our program is unique in that we consistently enroll more Tenors and Basses than Soprano and Altos!!  

North Scott High School Choir is a program that was built from the ground up.  Just like our rural farming community, our students embrace hardwork, goal setting and thrive!! In 2017, NS Choirs exploded onto the all state scene with 19 members being selected for the Iowa All State Chorus  Ever since, our choir has averaged 15-25 each year.  Recent performances at State Small and Large Group contest have earned straight Division I ratings and Best of Center Awards. 

The choir program at North Scott has developed a complete musicianship curriculum.  Students are taught solfege and takadimi at all grade levels as well as coached on solo performance and vocal technique aspects.  The program functions on a philosophy of "what does it take to get to the next level?"
