NS Singers - 2026 ACDA Selected Midwestern Performance Choir

The flagship ensemble, North Scott Singers, celebrates many successes of consistent Division One ratings at small and large group contests.  Yearly, between 15-25 students are selected for the Iowa All State Chorus.  Bi-annually, NS Singers prepare a renaissance program and perform at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival.  Our curricular focus is on skill development, enhancing student confidence through performance and performing of a challenging nature from the Renaissance to Contemporary music.  The ensemble has premiered four commissioned pieces, including Moira Smiley, Paul Langford, Connor Koppin and Julie Thomas

The auditioned ensemble of 45 embraces activities and trips that build friendships and a bond that enhances work ethic in rehearsals.  A strong tradition of excellence and high expectations secures the future of this ensemble as our ensemble prides itself on setting goals and working together to achieve them. 

            NS Singers, the flagship ensemble has performed from the midwest to NYC.  Most recently in 2026, a selected performance choir for the Midwestern ACDA convention in Milwaukee.  Other highlights include being a featured performer of Renaissance music, dialogue and costumes at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival since 2014.  A community of singers that support each other through music, friendship and experience has been the hallmark of the NS Choir program. 

Bass Clef Chorus  (Curricular Non Auditioned)

Is an ensemble for young men to grow vocally, mature mentally and develop a lifelong love of singing. This chorus focuses on traditional and contemporary men’s chorus literature, while honoring the time honored performance elements of Men’s Chorus. Concerts are scheduled throughout the year.  Voice lessons are available and may be considered for small groups that perform during the school year.

Bel Canto Chorus (Curricular Non Auditioned)

Bel Canto is a large ensemble that honors the elegance of the female voice through focused technique and well-rehearsed sound. Treble voices will focus on voice and skill development through literature and movement in the music.  Bel Canto performs 4 concerts a year as well as participates in State Small and Large Group Festival. Voice lessons are available.
