Students for Solar (SfS) is a student organization at Irving Middle School. We meet weekly to discuss advances in solar technology, issues related to the environment, plan fundraisers for our site based-installation, and field trips related to solar energy and environmental advocacy. The adoption of renewable energy, specifically at school sites, would have a positive impact on school funding, the economy, public health, educational opportunities and the environment. Our goal is to put solar panels at our school site to reduce energy costs, increase STEM learning opportunities, and use fewer fossil fuels.
