We are a group of energetic and committed 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who started a club to make a difference at our school.
We value education, but currently there is not enough money available for our schools, therefore we plan to use on-site solar power installations to save money on energy bills, which will direct more money into the classroom.
We strive to make our public schools a vibrant learning community full of opportunity, but due to funding and logistical limitations not all students can participate in enrichment activities, therefore, site based solar installations provide a necessary opportunity to bring STEM and science enrichment opportunities to every student.
Planet earth is uniquely suited to sustain life, but pollution is undermining the quality of life and creating a mass extinction event, therefore we have a moral obligation to preserve and sustain our home for ourselves and future generations by switching to renewable energy sources.
We value a good education and we know it is a vital part of our future success, but air pollution is linked to asthma and is undermining the health of many students, leading to chronic absenteeism, therefore we aim to reduce air pollution and improve student health by bringing clean renewable energy to Norman via on-site solar installations.
We need to be educated and prepared for careers that are stable, well paid, and benefit our economy, but not all schools and districts have STEM learning opportunities that are relevant and practical, therefore a solar installation at Irving would provide a richer, more meaningful learning experience.
