Overview

The Ambitious Postsecondary Pathways (APP) Program was established in 2018 to provide resources and create opportunities for post-secondary success beyond a high school diploma. The program includes a broad range of job training and apprenticeship opportunities in the automotive, business, construction, culinary arts, IT, healthcare, and military fields. All recommended pathways have a job placement rate of over 75% and competitive starting salaries.

We have developed four metrics to evaluate programs and determine whether they are recommended:

Cost - Overall cost to the student is lower than the cost of attending a similar program at the City Colleges of Chicago without financial aid
Success - Program Completion and/or Job Placement rate is greater than 75% (depending on the program design)
Outcome - Program completion results in an accredited certification or job placement in that field
Career Field - Training in growing career fields (from https://www.onetonline.org/)
